I picked up Private Reserve Naples Blue because the shading in the product photos caught my attention. After using it for about two months with a Kakimori Brass dip pen, I’ve been happy with the color overall.Naples Blue is very vibrant on the page. I can get some attractive shading when the pen puts down a heavier amount of ink, although the effect is much less noticeable in finer writing. On the paper I’ve used, I haven’t noticed any feathering or smearing, and it dries fairly quickly compared with other fountain pen inks I’ve used.My main complaint is the bottle, which I don’t think is especially well designed. The ink itself has performed well, though, and the bright color is the biggest reason I enjoy using it.

This wa exactly what I was looking for. When Spearmint dries it retains it's bright color and does not dull. It's my favorite shade of green ink.

Cadillac Green is absolutely STUNNING. Photos fail to capture it properly.Ebony Blue is a very pleasant super dark green with a slight blue slant.Black Cherry is very similar to Writer's Blood in color, but Writer's Blood is better behaved.Rose Rage is nearly coral.

Man did I sleep on this ink, it was one of my first inks and I’ll be honest it just sat on my desk for the longest time as I was obsessed with pilot inks, but once I tried this one out I was surprised how wet it was. Makes my fine nib feel much smoother! The blue looks great as well, very professional. This is one I will continue to buy in the future!

There is not too much one can say about inks. It writes well in a couple of fountain pens I've filled with it. I don't notice much difference from other inks in viscosity, i.e., how quickly it comes through the nib and on to the paper. Like most fountain pen inks, it will smear if you get it wet after the ink dries, but it doesn't smear more than the other brands of inks I've used.I like the color the best of all the fountain pen inks I've used. It is fairly dark, and so is suitable for business purposes, but it has a green tint to the dark blue ink that makes it a bit distinctive. It is bluer and darker than inks labelled "teal" that I have used but could be accurately labelled as "Dark Teal."I have about a half dozen bottles of ink. This is my favorite color.

This Cosmic Cobalt is a wet writing ink in all my pens, all nibs. It has made some drier nibs come alive. It is my go-to blue and my test ink for all new pens as it flows well, is predictable, and leaves a dark consistent line. This ink doesn't feather on the good paper I use. It can, only sometimes, feather a little on cheap copier paper with Broad nibs. But still usable in all situations I encounter and, if I"m writing or drawing, I'm using better paper anyway most of the time. I have other colors and they all write a bit differently than the cobalt (some write drier, some more shading or transparency) but they all work well so far and I've found at least one nib that has been perfect for each that I've tried. I've been using Private Reserve ink since they were brought out in 2005. No matter the formula or who owns them, they've been very consistent and the color pallette is fantastic. Their inks have excellent flow and as a result, lay down a nice amount of ink. If I ever have a pen that skips, chokes or just doesn't write well with PR inks, it has always been the pen to blame. I loved the DC Supershow Purple color but it's been years since I've bought a bottle. So I landed on the Ebony Purple, thinking there is not way that the color sample under the item's pictures was accurate. And I'm glad I was correct. Such a rich, vibrant and contrasting color in my pens. The attached sample was through my vintage 90s Pelikan M800 with a M nib. Very pleased with it!

I purchased Blue Suede looking for an affordable and non-traditional blue ink, but what I got was so much more beautiful than I’d imagined. The bottle is easy to fill from with its large opening, the color is this rich, deep teal blue, but the unexpected part was the sheening which pops up quite regularly in my writing. The photo shown here is with a particularly wet EF nib in a Kaweco Sport on TR paper in a Hononichi Weeks planner, and in almost every bit of writing where the ink pools, I get this beautiful red sheen.
