The Ka'au Crater Boys second album, Valley Style, served notice that Earnie Cruz Jr. and Troy Fernandez were outstanding artists. They were honored with the 1994 Na Hoku Hanohano for Contemporary Album of the Year which is Hawaii's equivilant to a Grammy. Troy Fernandez's "Surf" was a highlight on this album and is still a favorite among Hawaiian music fans.
