I think these are okay for use in situations where timeless is NOT a factor. The release mechanism works okay, but re-inserting it back into its base is not a one-and-done. The interlocking grooves have to line up before it seats properly. In a professional setting this would be bad, as the focus turns to the person fixing the mic stand instead of the person using it. Also, it's just not as solidly built as I would like. There is still movement at the coupling point, even after being tightened to the max.

Just what I need for quick change and break down. No more fussing with unscrewing the mic clip or breaking it if I don't.

I love the Ultimate brand. I have several products from them and truly love them, however, this quick release for my Ultimate Apex Pro keyboard stand (the mic boom base) is not what I expected from the company. It is built very well from a durability standpoint, however, it 'wiggles' at the quick connect point. probably about 1/8" or better - which causes my microphone to sway back and forth 1-2". I don't know if it's just this one, in particular, that's bad, or if it's how these are made, but I am not happy about it.I have a similar quick-release for my mic connects that works without incident.

Great tool if you need to swap mics quickly. It's heavier than it looks. Take that into consideration if you're using it on the end of a mic boom. The two pieces will challenge some springs for balance tension. Also, you need to be a tiny bit careful because during mating the two parts, you can pinch your skin a bit when snapping a mic on. But by putting up with those small issues, you get a super heavy duty system that positively locks in position and should basically last forever. Recommended.
