Perfect replacement for my 2001 Tige 21v with the 5.7 350 MPI. Was exactly what came off, and went right on with no problems.

It has been installed for a couple of years now and still works great.

Although I have used Sierra aftermarket parts in the past, and have had good luck, this distributor cap would not fit my 1997 5.7LX Mercruiser and bound to the ID when attempting to tighten down. The ID of the cap was too small by a very slight bit; likely due to some manufacturing issues, and I expect it would have cracked if I pushed it in any harder. The cap also feels like it is a cheaper version of the OEM part. I'd skip this one. I requested a refund and am exchanging for the OEM version. I'd say, in this case, the aftermarket part isn't quite up to the standards and tolerances of the original.

Once I listed my marine engine type and serial number, the amazon website lists a large variety of parts frequently purchased for maintenance and repair. Could not get the rotor off to replace with then new rotor but the distributor cap was easy to install and was the correct part.

Installed it on a 1990 454 Mercruiser Thunderbolt Ignition. Good quality. Only hiccup was that I had to literally split the old rotor with a chisel to get it off of the distributor shaft. Must have been on there a long time. I replaced the plug wires at the same time. Runs much better!

everything fit and construction quality was solid. Put this on my 5.7L Merc. It took 15min to replace my old, tired distributor with the new one. Its also cheaper to get this kit than it is to get the cap, rotor, and gasket separately.

The boat now starts easier and runs smoother with this cap and rotor kit. The instructions were clear and advised how to remove old rotor as well as how to install new. The trouble with the instructions - and thus related to the kit overall - is that it advises on using an adhesive to keep the rotor from rising up off the shaft. It's a specfic Permatex type that couldn't be found. Believe they have an old part # in the instructions. Also, it would just make more sense to include a small tube of it with the kit so one has all the parts and materials needed to get the job done right on the spot.
