Dexter - Protector de borde de 4" x 1", estrecho

Was a little hesitant to buy this based on some negative reviews, but figured wth, 6 bucks and free returns. It works great, like it was made for this specific knife, and maybe it was. It’s not meant as a carry system, just a way to protect the blade and your hand when reaching in the drawer or tool box for it. Not sure what was wrong with the ones that other people got, but this Dexter knife isn’t the least bit broad or thick, so if this blade guard can hold it securely it should work for just about any 4” blade.

The guard doesn't fit well on the blade of the knife it is meant to guard. The knife easily falls out while in storage.

Completely useless unless your knife blade is an inch tall or super thick. This is 4 inches long but the bend part is so big it doesn't grip most knives that are that length. The "guard" just flops around on the blade and falls off. It might fit a 4 inch blade that is super thick, like a heavy duty outdoors knife or a thick bladed ceramic knife, but forget paring or other small similar knives. Among my knives I only found an esoteric Japanese knife that kind of fits although it is a tiny bit too long for the "guard". I do not recommend this.

Knifes will not stay in guard which makes the knife guard useless! It will protect a Kyocera ceramic knife. My 3 in ceramic is the only knife that will stay in this knife guard but out of the close to 100 knives that I have that are not ceramic this guard is utterly useless. Messermeister knife guards still seem to be the best to this chef. I added a star because I found out they are very good for Kyocera 3 in Ceramic Pairing Knife

These are great, but pricey. Active use will break them in time, but it will take awhile. I've gone through a few - they tend to break lengthwise with regular use.

Purchased these guards for both my own use and gifts. These work well, and tightly grip the blade. Many cooks have very limited counter space, so have no room for a knife block, or will transport their knives in a knife roll. These guards are ideal for this and will of course fit other makes of knives. The plastic used is soft enough that it can be trimmed to length and the contour next to the handle modified to insure full blade coverage by using a sharp box cutter. Not only do these edge guards protect the blade, they also protect the hand groping in the knife drawer. IMNSHO these should be standard on every sharp kitchen knife [and all kitchen knives should be sharp].

Trying to protect a Russell Harrington 3 1/4" x 5/8" paring knife and it is much too loose at the bottom.The Wusthof guards work very well but are more expensive.
