USS Iowa Battleship Pen BB-61 original Teak Decking with COA The Big Stick

This Genuine USS Iowa Battleship decking teak wood pen is carefully hand turned on my lathe & with a 15 step process sanded & polished to 12,000 grit to a glass like finish. It is a unique one of a kind gift that you will not see another like it. This pen will come with a COA showing where it was acquired. The USS Iowa served her country for over 47 years and was the lead ship in the last class of battleships the US will ever make. The USS Iowa was the first ship in her class, designed to escort the new, and fast, aircraft carriers. Started in June 1940, and launched just over 2 years later, the Iowa was big, fast, and powerful. Nicknamed "The Big Stick," she was decommissioned and recommissioned several times over the decades, fighting in World War II, the Korean War and again through the '80s. The Teak used for this pen was part of the original deck that was replaced after more than 70 years of service. With this pen purchase you receive a very nice clear window presentation box, a COA describing the material used to craft the pen. This pen is custom hand turned by me (Bill Holland) in my home studio. This is an actual piece of the teak decking, complete with COA showing where the wood was acquired as well as a small piece of wood with the original patina on it. This pen is a VERY RARE and unique piece of US War Ship history. It is a unique one of a kind gift that you will not see another like it.
