Product Description Roger Tripp was born and raised in a small Central California town into a musical family. He grew up with the influences of The Rambo’s, The Hinsons, & The Happy Goodman’s in Gospel music, Merle Haggard, Roy Nichols (lead guitarist for Merle), Buck Owens, Don Rich (lead guitarist for Buck), Hank Williams, & Chet Atkins in Country music. He started playing guitar at age (10) ten, writing songs at age (15) fifteen & (6) six of his projects have been recorded in Nashville with the last (3) three projects on a small record label. He just released his 7th CD titled: ‘One Trip…p, One Time’ in February of 2009. This is the first CD Roger didn’t record in Nashville using studio musicians. Including himself on both acoustic and electric lead guitar, he used (7) seven former or current band members in the recording. So, far he’s had many compliments from both radio DJ’s to his fan base saying this CD is his best work yet. He’s had his own band since 1991 (Christian Country) and they play churches, fairs and other events that are geared towards a family setting. In the 90’s he released a couple of songs to Christian Country radio with ‘What Do You Want Out Of Life’ peaking at #21 January of 1999, & ‘In My Next Life’ peaking at #24. ‘Grandpa’s Dream’ the first cut on this album is Roger’s all-time favorite song he’s written & recorded because it’s a bio of the music connection between his grandfather, his mother & himself. If & when he makes his first video, this would be the one he’d love to do. In the (7) seven projects he’s recorded to date, he’s written (55) fifty five of the (74) seventy four songs recorded, 74% of the material on the projects. He considers himself a Positive Country and Christian Country artist with a very traditional Bakersfield Country sound. ‘Grandpa’s Dream’ the first song on this album is Roger’s favorite and speaks of the connection between his grandfather, his mother, and himself all intertwined due to music. His grandfather wanted Roger’s mom to be a Country singer and she had started singing in bars at the tender age of 9. This is how Roger’s father and mother met, his father started playing his mother’s band and they eventually were married. When Roger’s mother turned 21 she started taking her three children at the time (Nema, Roger, & Willie) to church and gave up her bar room singing. Basically the song speaks of how Roger is living out his grandfather’s dream for his mother, only he’s doing Christian Country Music and Positive Country Music, not drinking, fighting, cheating type of songs. On this project Roger had the pleasure of having Leona Williams (married to Merle Haggard 1978 – 1984) on harmony vocals.
